Fire Safety Poster Contest

9/13/2016

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is asking for your help in spreading fire safety awareness through a new, fun and creative project. We wish to request your assistance by encouraging your students to participate, either in school or at home through a Fire Safety Poster Contest sponsored by our office. You can use our website as a resource for education material.

Awards and recognition will be given to one Poster winner, along with 11 other place winners. A major benefit of the program is the research done by all of the students on fire prevention and fire safety. We, in the fire service, feel that each child that participates in the program will become more knowledgeable about fire prevention and fire safety through their research efforts.

The firefighters in your community will be most appreciative to you for your assistance in making our Fire Safety Poster Contest a success. If you have any questions please contact the Public Education Division at the Fire Marshal’s Office at (304) 558-2191 Ext. 53205.

The importance of educating and protecting children from the dangers and trauma that can be caused by fire, especially fires in and around the home, is widely recognized. We want this contest to encourage teachers, students and parents to participate actively to reduce the incidence and impact of fire related injuries and destruction of property.
